The next generation of gaming may be nearly upon us.
According to Wall Street Journal report, Sony will unveil the successor to its popular PlayStation 3 console on Feb. 20. The new console will include features such as integrated social networking and cloud-connected gaming. Sony said it hopes to generate substantial interest for the new device ahead of a rumored holiday 2013 launch.
Called either the PlayStation 4 or “Orbis” — a development code name repeatedly referenced by leaked internal documents — the console is expected to sell for about $430, which is substantially cheaper than the debut price of its predecessor.
The announcement is scheduled to begin at 6 pm. Sony will broadcast the event live here.
